Yes, "at-least 6 inches" sounds like a definite time-to-trim situation! :)
And I see your point - shortening is a lot easier than lengthening - thank goodness you can sew your own stuff! :)
Gwenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12953347562329586677noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-878030418218630654.post-10591218383010834762013-01-24T04:27:32.889-08:002013-01-24T04:27:32.889-08:00Hemming for a couple of friends who have very shor...Hemming for a couple of friends who have very short inseams - I cut off the excess. We're talking at least 6-inches, so any other option just doesn't cut it LOL! For myself, with a 33" inseam, I haven't ever had to hem RTW for myself. If I could only figure out how to ADD a few inches :-)Claire S.https://www.blogger.com/profile/11825049555257941107noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-878030418218630654.post-46803145985943393932013-01-23T17:58:18.659-08:002013-01-23T17:58:18.659-08:00Thanks, Debbie! I figured that I shouldn't cut unless I could finish the raw edge - but it didn't occur to me to open up the side seam and the inside a bit to deal with the tapering - that's brilliant! :)Gwenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12953347562329586677noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-878030418218630654.post-52560650047716923332013-01-23T16:14:54.150-08:002013-01-23T16:14:54.150-08:00Thanks, Sarah! :)

When your pant leg tapers, you may have to open up the side seam and inseam at the hem and spread it to accomodate the width of the pant leg at the hem.gwensewshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05809115166600229262noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-878030418218630654.post-41785169783672413002013-01-23T06:53:18.252-08:002013-01-23T06:53:18.252-08:00Good to hem without cutting till they've been ...Good to hem without cutting till they've been washed/cleaned a few times!
Honestly, it doesn't matter how you do it so long as you like the way they turned out...
